Every child is special in their own way, but these ones - they are extra special.

 

The Specials tells a story about a special needs class for 6th graders, set in an elementary school in a fictional town. Six children in the class have a reputation of being troublemakers, victims of bullying or otherwise strange. The situation isn’t helped by the fact that the children always seem to find themselves in some sort of trouble. In the series, each characteristic that makes the children special is portrayed as a sort of super power. Even though the series is set in a special needs class, it deals with issues that concern all schoolchildren; bullying, righteousness, friendship, love, the seeking of acceptance and the right to be who you are.
