The Specials is a comedic children’s series about six truly unique children in a small elementary school class. In other classes they are labeled as troublemakers or simply “weird,” but within their own classroom they become an unstoppable team that can face anything together. Throughout the season their individual quirks lead them into increasingly outrageous situations, yet those same traits often reveal themselves as unexpected superpowers.

Each season introduces six new children with their own unique qualities, while the teachers remain the same. The gentle class teacher Matti and the painfully awkward classroom assistant Pirjo do their best to guide the children, as the strict, discipline-obsessed principal Anja is always ready to blame them for whatever goes wrong.

The hugely popular series has run for four seasons, with the same characters also appearing in podcasts and audiobooks. The fourth season won the Golden Venla Award for Best Children’s and Youth Series.
