REGINA
QUEEN OF THE RING

Riina is a young woman who lives for show wrestling. In the ring, she turns into Regina Rosendahl, who has no mercy for the patriarchy. Can feminist thinking gain a foothold in a traditionally male-dominated sport?

The documentary follows Riina in matches, training sessions and script meetings. Riina tirelessly defends equality and fights for the championship to be won by a woman one day. However, victory is not decided in the ring, but at the writing table. Becoming a champion requires the approval of the community. As support, Riina has like-minded men and strong women in the family.

The camera records both frustrating and touching moments behind the scenes. Riina says she hates most men, but in training and after matches, genuine care can be seen between the wrestlers.
